If you’re going to a casino for the first time, there are certain pieces of knowledge that you might want to research before you go.             The most basic bet in craps is called the pass line bet. When you bet on this, you are going to win instantly if the roller gets a 7 or an 11, and lose if the roller gets a 2, 3, or a 12. Any other number becomes the “point”. Now, the shooter, (the person with the dice) will continue rolling until they either roll the same number that was established as the point, or until they hit a seven. If they hit a seven, the pass line bets are lost, but if they hit the point again before they hit that 7, then they win if they bet on the pass line. There is also a bet called the “don’t pass” line, which pays out in essentially the exact opposite manner as the pass line bet.

 

            The rules for craps are more complicated than this, but understanding the pass line and don’t pass line bets are what you need to get started playing. After you spend some time at the table you will quickly see the other bets people are making and catch on to the nuances and the rest of the details which flesh out the game.

Alternative methods of pregnancy and delivery

Pregnancy and the act of labor and delivery, although joyful, also a source of pain.Obviously there is joy because of the newborn baby, but any woman will tell you, it was a source of unspeakable pain.

Well because of the pain that woman go through, there are two different schools of thought on how labor and delivery should happen.  I am going to offer some perspective on one particular school of thought that I have gained first hand experience with by being a homebirth midwife San Diego.

There is the medical model for delivery which is associated with drugs to kill the pain, and sometimes cesarean to complete the delivery.

While there is another model, which though not widely accepted, for those who believe in it and have experience it consider it much safer and natural for the woman.

That model is the midwifery model as it is called.That model is the exact opposite of the medical model which is usually used.  Where the medical model relies heavily on medicine, hence “medical”, midwifery relies on the natural.Midwifery philosphy believes that pregnancy, labor, and delivery should happen as naturally as possible because it is a natural process.

This model is performed by a group called midwives. Midwives San Diego are generally woman, who attend the birth, often times at the mother’s home.This midwife would help with some techniques that help the woman go through labor as naturally as possible without drugs.

Contrary to most people’s opinion, when medicine is not used during labor, it allows the labor to proceed much faster without the use of drugs to slow the labor down.

The midwife is a profession that has a regulatory board that oversees, certifies, and licenses the individual. 

Although usually not a nurse or doctor, a midwife can be a nurse as well.

Even though they are not formal doctors or nurses, they will have some medical equipment for emergencies like resuscitation devices and equipment for suturing.

So this is what a midwife is and what midwifery is in regards to pregnancy and delivery.

Their goals are to allow the birth and delivery to happen as naturally as possible.  This reduces the likelihood of a c-section.  Doesn’t allow you to be subject to invasive hospital procedures such as episiotomys.Less medical intrusion will be used such as drugs to speed up or slow the pregnancy or the breaking of the water.And the part woman love the most, usually labor and delivery happen much faster naturally.

Hopefully this article sheds some light on the benefits of midwifery and having a midwife for your pregnancy.At the very minimum, maybe it gives you some other options to think about and look into.  Remember this is first hand knowledge from a San Diego midwife.

Casino Craps Games: A Smart Gamble or a Risky Investment?

Does a Caribbean stud poker strategy exist that will make the house’s edge reasonable?  Unfortunately, the answer is no unless the jackpot is at a high level.  To explain further…  Caribbean stud Poker offers a sizable house advantage of over 5% - not in terms of cards but by way of the betting structure.  The fact that you MUST bet three times in order to stay in a hand definitely does not help your advantage.  The times that the dealer does not qualify (44% of the tim), you only win your ante - which in most instances isn’t very much.
