What to do to take clearer pictures

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

A professional photographer should know the right way in taking a picture. It should have a nice focus.  Or if it is an action shot how to take the picture without it being blurred. But not all people are professional photographers that is why they commit a lot of mistakes when taking photos. So here goes some tips in making you better in photography.

Focusing the shot would be the first tip.  Or more particularly how to make sure your subject is the focus of the shot.  Obviously being a San Diego wedding photographer it is very important in weddings. But your subject would be out of focus if you do not center it.  How you get around that is to first center the subject. Then you should half press first because this would result to the camera auto focusing on the subject. Then put them to the side and go take the shot. This would be great if you want the subject to be at the side of the photo.

Next tip is really good for action shots.  As a San Diego event photography service a lot of events are going to be action oriented events.Meaning the subjects will not be still for a lot of time. The trick is mentioned already in the first tip and that is to half press so that the camera would focus on the subject first. That way it can focus on the subject first and it can also reduce shutter delay. This would result to a photo that is not blurred.

The subject getting too bright is what the final tip is about.  This happens a lot doing San Diego commercial photographer work. The tip would be to utilize all the camera features. Here you would point the camera at something that is brighter. That way the camera automatically makes it less brighter. And once the camera has done making it less brighter then go take a photo of the subject. You will notice that the subjects are not as bright anymore.

So there goes some tricks in photography.

Whether you are a professional photographer or an amateur you should always want to get better.  Because the pictures you take are capturing once in a lifetime moments.  Since it is once in a lifetime shots it makes sense to make them good.So here are some ways to improve your photography skills.

Well in my practice as a San Diego wedding photographer I do many weddings. And weddings are very important events.  There is a lot of joy of course.  But also that day brings a lot of stress and pressure. And one stressful job to have is to nicely capture the happy moments during that day.  And if you are proud of the work you do, you want your work to immortalize that day.And the only way that you can achieve that is by getting better.

Practicing to take shots is one way to get better. And what I mean by practice is you should practice at an event where you are not paid. No, you should not be practicing at events where you are getting paid but at events where you take shots for free. That way you can be creative with your shots and you can also experiment with new ones.  I have done this many times as a San Diego photographer.  Of course you won’t be able to take the usual poses unless you know the bride and groom. But, nevertheless, there are still great shots that await you.

Another way of improving your photography skills is by entering and joining a photography competition.  There is nothing like a little competition to get the competitive juices flowing. These competitions are a great venue to try and do your best. And after the competition what’s good is that you can compare your work to other’s work . Doing San Diego event photography this has helped me see where I need to improve in as well as see my strengths.  Plus if you win you should win a nice prize.

So there are some of the tips on how to improve on your photo skills. As a professional you should want to become the best at your profession.

Most important things to consider when looking for a wedding photographer

Budget is one of the things that could cause problems for couples planning to wed.  They have to budget for the location. They have to budget for the reception. And they also have to allot money for the honeymoon. And we should also consider the wedding photographer.  This is a choice people have to make on going cheap or getting a quality photographer.  So let’s compare the two.

Of course this is coming from my experience as a San Diego wedding photographer. So I have had the experience of dealing with couples who are on a tight budget. But I also encountered some who have limitless budget.Obviously, you cannot afford an expensive one if your are on a tight budget.A couple do not have a choice if that is the case.  They don’t have a choice in regards to how much they can spend. But if they just go around and interview photographers then they might have achance that they would get a good one.All they have to do is look around for photographers.

But if a couple is on a limitless budget then they should find the best ones out there. Why do they have to?Because their wedding is one of their most cherished events in their life. Don’t go cheap on someone who you are trusting to capture that moment forever.  I have had many people tell me they regretted not going with my San Diego photographer business because of price. The main reason for this is because they were not satisified with the quality that they got from their photographer.

So if you have a big event like a wedding don’t go cheap. That is if you can avoid it.  Find the best San Diego portrait photographer you can find and you will be pleased with the outcome.A wedding is something that is worth the spending. You are giving someone the task of capturing the beautiful moments on that day forever.  Make sure you place it in the hands of someone who can deliver on that trust.
